Online-how much money could i make doing this?

Lets say i create an info/sales page about dog training. I choose an affiliate dog training ebook and market the site by posting articles (only.) Would it be possible or likely that i'd be able to make a nice side income from this?

You can totally make money with that niche if you can get ranked well in Google search index, and or find some good targeted and cheap keywords for a Pay per click ad campaign.
Clickbank.com has plenty of good dog training ebooks that pay you 50 – 75 % of the sale as commission.
Like anything on the web, it's all about volume and targeted traffic.
There's plenty of people doing it already though, so you'd better research your keywords, and find some that aren't discovered by too many others yet.

I don't think so. It is only a website that they could create themselves.
It is extremely difficult to make money on the web.

You would be better off writing your own ebook so you have 100% rights over it and you make maximum profit. Start off with a few articles. Spread the word about your website. Make a forum so that people have a chance to chat and ask you questions. Once you have their trust you plop your e-book on their with a brief exert. Charge a reasonable fee for it say £2/£3.
Make sure you spend alot of time and research on the e-book, add some good illustrations and such. Advertise your website on various forums etc.. relevant to dog training. And you will be on your way.

It all depends
How good your content is
How convincing your sales pitch is
How good the merchants site is [you could do a great job but when they click on to the merchant's site, if it is a dud, then they are not going to buy]
How much TARGETED traffic you get [i.e traffic that consists mainly of people interested in 'dog training']

In customer perspective it is all about choosing which one. We want to find the best, we want the best price and we want the best customer services. We don't get that once we have bought something we take refund and say that places are not good one to buy things.
On the internet news flies fast. If it good news then you become instant celebrity otherwise it feels like staying in a cave somewhere never want to come out ever again.

It is possible with a huge amount of effort to do this. Unfortunately it will not last long.You might just as well spend all that effort building up your own visitors and eventually commercialise those numbers.

you should be able to make approx 300$ a month from these type of ebooks, that to IF the site is good, and you do a lot of SEO.

I don't really think there is an easy way of earning money, if it was 'easy-peasy' every one would be doing it. I believe that the best think you can do is to create an interesting blog which will attract lots of visitors, then the marketing companies will approach you offering to place their ads and on your site.
